• Question: Is all the hard worth it and why?

      I think so. I enjoy my job, I get to travel with work, there is always work around so I don’t need to worry to much about getting a job again if I have to move house and the jobs pay well enough for me to own a home, go on holiday and not worry too much about money.

      Yes, because I enjoy producing good work and being successful.

      Yes definitely. I only realised that now. I wish I knew that as a kid. With hard work you tend to value the finished product. If you like challenges, engineering is definitely worth it.

      A lot of engineering is a way of thinking and tackling problems.

      That’s a hard thing to learn – so the hard work of studying at school and doing projects and exams is training not just to know about the specific topic for instance renewable energy, but also to have a way of thinking to transfer to a completely new topic which hasn’t been thought about yet.

      Completing something after working hard for it is really satisfying.
