      Yes, we help bring clean drinking water to people in the UK and treat sewage so that the clean bits can be returned to our rivers and the waste can be used to generate power. My company also gives us volunteer days so we can help with other community things like beach cleaning and painting parks.

      My work maintains the safety of dams in my local area which ensures the community is safe from the risk of dam failure, which could cause a huge amount of damage and potential deaths.

      I work for Costain which has different sectors such as Highways, Rail, Water, Nuclear and, Oil and Gas. My job is to improve people’s lives – we make sure that our designs allow people to have running water, people can travel safely to see their family and it is always warm at home.

      My work helps keep wind turbines generating electricity to power your home. In 2016 a quarter of UK electricity was supplied from low-carbon generation.

      The wind industry in general provides employment in the four ‘corners’ of the UK – rural and coastal areas which have historically not had the same investment as cities and urban centres.
