Victoria Herbert answered on 8 Mar 2018:

I applied for my current job straight after finishing university. I worked in various places before like the London underground, in breweries and for maintenance companies so I knew I wanted to work with control systems. I chose water because I knew water plants could run automatically and there would be lots to learn. It’s also a job that will always be there, everyone wants clean water!

I got an engineering degree and my first job which was as a graduate engineer offered me a lot of training and development. I was really lucky.

I was interested in the area of wind and renewable energy through a lecture series at university. When a company I’d done industrial placements in made me aware of job opportunities for graduate engineers in the wind part of their business I seized my chance.
